To the individual who wants to find love - a pet counts if that's an option available to you! I promise it goes both ways, and the love of a pet (or several pets) is so fulfilling.

Please post L.A. dates ASAP. We need comedy and soon.

Conversely (or is it inversely?), I'd likely to visit Brooklyn soon but, wow, it's expensive. Any suggestions on ways to visit friends in Bay Ridge for a couple of weeks that aren't going to cost me thousands?

The dates are a little tentative for LA but I am planning to do shows there on 1/27 and 1/29! And good luck with your Brooklyn visit! I have no idea how to do anything affordably (especially pay for a place to sleep) in this city! There is a lot of good stuff to do and eat without breaking the bank once you're here!

I too have struggled to smoke weed! And I make edibles for a living! Something about using lighters…it’s a struggle.

Another fine “That’s Marvelous!” Thank you.

I’d like to add that love is everywhere and hopefully the person who submitted that resolution can find it easily.

Also, I prefer EPMD’s analogous “It’s like Lotto, you have to be in it to win it” to Wayne Gretzky’s pep talk. Still, I don’t think he was being smug (or snarky) but earnestly encouraging people to try.

Last but not least, I’m excited you’re coming to SF this month but bummed I’m unlikely to be able to attend. I hope you have a great show(s)!

Ok I want to see that list of things you want to watch! Am I the only one that loves seeing stuff like that, esp. if it's an iPhone note ! Good tips given as always, food for thought.

dear josh,

great piece as always!

love this in particular:

"I refer to the online practice of this as Uncle Posting or Aunt Posting. I honestly aspire to the digital life of someone who logs on with no self-consciousness, who just wants to tell their nieces and nephews that they’re doing great, and has no inkling that strangers will see these comments. I will leave the comment “You two!!!” on the anniversary picture of people I’ve met one time. I’ll throw down some flame emojis on a photo of a friend wearing a suit to the theater. Why hold back? Who are you trying to look cool in front of? Leave the sincere comment that your heart years to share!"

thanks for sharing!

love,

aunt myq

I love that you’ve cultivated a following of people who resolve to bring Facebook aunt energy. Let’s dance, 2025!

Music rec for you. I think you’ll dig the new LP from the French power pop group Avilda. It’s so friggin charming. https://alvilda.bandcamp.com/album/cest-d-j-lheure
