Love for Out of Sight (easily in my top ten) and love for BDB (who I first saw live in Glasgow over 20 years ago, which necessitated going ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY, or less than 50 miles, to see Placebo in Edinburgh the next night) and love for Julianne Moore? I’m clearly in the right place.

1. Heist movies/tv series are like game shows of many years ago that still exist. The prizes are “nice” but no one’s lifestyle will change from winning $20k split amongst a family of 5.

2. As much as I agree with your take on good British tv being short, leave it to America to redo said British tv so the original creator can continually reap success.

3. Currently hearing The Cars, “Let the Good Times Roll” in my head.

Agree about the inverse quantity thingy; like you can’t be like “I’m gonna stick it to the man, by becoming the man” or like “Billionaires shouldn’t exist… unless they’re me 🤭” then we can’t care about you anymore, protagonist!!!

Jenna hipped me to that song as well! And I’m still listening to it like 10 years later too.

Also, I love your advice this week. Anonymous, I was in your shoes once when moving to Seoul and received similar wise words from a bearded Canadian while complaining about the exorbitant cost of imported Guinness. He said, “Look you can spend your time here trying to overpay for stuff you could get at home, or discovering all the cheaper and better stuff you’d never know about if you hadn’t moved 2,000 miles away from home.” I took his advice and had an amazing time. Also, you can overpay for NY bagels via Goldbelly now if you want to do both.
