You can never be too name-dropey unless your name is Matt Pinfield. Try to smile without teeth to look cool like those musicians. And the pep talk writer should be excited that anyone can go 3 years without a dental exam and not be in pain. Also, a good rule of thumb I use is always be nice to someone who can inflict pain on you as part of their job.

My personal trick for dealing with unpleasant tasks: unless someone else will be hurt, I make an appointment with myself to take care of it. Say, next Thursday. Then I allow myself to not worry about it until the appropriate time. It makes for a little less baggage to carry every day, and as often as not, I just go ahead and do the damned thing and feel relieved it is done.

Well this may be the most “For Me” newsletter yet what with the awesome music recs and the reader letter that I am *almost* sure I didn’t somehow write and send without realizing it??

Forever a fan of Ted Leo’s music and as a person as he seems like a stand-up dude. Got to see him live opening for Death Cab years ago. ‘Where Have All The Rudeboys Gone?’ live, that’s some peak concert-going experience right there. Also I saw you post on IG about his album with Aimee and it’s perfectness, hard agree.

Video Dave’s new album with Controller 7 is SO GOOD. Can’t wait for Mike’s new one.

Oh and if possible please try to make it to South Florida!

Great read! Thanks for the music picks. Annie Hart is actually playing a show with Fred Armisen in Amherst this week. The new Wilco single Evicted is really good too Josh.

It’s terrific. Reminds me of a lot of The Whole Love album/era. Also Chris Farren’s Spotify photo is perfect.

This can't be new to you, but I just have no concept of what rap (or any music, really) is or isn't or should or shouldn't be already known anymore and so what you already heard and dismissed this, what is that to me? (Sad. Sad is what it is to me.)

You don't even have to get on a plane! Unless you like getting on planes, then you can fly to Allaire airport, now called Monmouth Jet Center, which sounds so cool maybe you don't even need to do a show after that.

As an anecdote to the person afraid of making the dentist appt: I too delayed making a dentist appt for a long time and when I finally went I had SEVEN cavities.

BUT! When I was a little woozy from the nitrous I asked my dentist if I had the most disgusting mouth she had ever seen, and she said not even close! She was very comforting, so maybe their dentist will be like that too!
