I’m screen-shotting the tagline under the title of this post because it legit made me laugh, and the pep talk to the good folks at Beetlejuice is gold.

Also, solid and compassionate advice for the struggling parents. As a fine former therapist of mine once said, “You can’t rationalize the irrational” and I think about that often when I’m riding high on my own irrational fears. It’s helpful. Sometimes. Anyway, I hope that little nugget eventually comes to terms with his non-rabies

Thanks, as always, for getting my week off to a perky start! 😘

Man, how good is the current Pharmacists lineup? The last shows pre-pandemic and these were the best I’ve seen them play over 20 years!

Plus in boston we got a song with Josh Kantor on keys!

Josh is the best! The Pharmacists were so good too! I think Ted mentioned a couple of members had some health issues that stopped them from making it out on this tour, but I hope they bounce back soon!

dear josh,

this is a lot of great stuff!

one specific great thing i'll hang a lantern on is how great a guy john oliver seems to be (at comedy and humanity), what with being "currently on tour so he can keep paying his staff through the strike (Bill Maher, take notes!)"

love it, love you, thank you, (thank it?)!

love

Saw you in Philly last night! What a nice surprise - I didn't realize you were going to be the opener. You were hilarious and sweet. Classic Gondelman, the last of your bloodline.

Will never think about Beetlejuice the same way again. which is a shame. Hopefully they'll work it into the sequel. sigh.

Man, that TL/RX song is so good. Heard it for the first time ever at a show in Chicago a good 3-4 months before it was released and it BLEW MY MIND (such that I spent the next couple months scouring the internet for it on a daily basis without much luck; eventually a terrible recording from Bottom of the Hill showed up somewhere). It was very frustrating. Such an earworm from first listen. Currently enduring longest Ted Leo show drought in my adult life and it is *killing* me. Super jelly of those east coast shows.

Don’t downplay your effect on Drew Barrymore.

And Bill Maher couldn’t carry John Oliver’s jock.

The Beetlejuice traveling tour team is getting great publicity and if they weren’t already selling out their shows, they probably are now. Speaking of tangents, Boebert should pay back all of the actors student loans for her penance - she could use the PPP loans MTG took out and never repaid.

The Bad Timing parents mean well and it’s hard to watch your adult kid struggle but they are an adult now & even though we want to, we can’t help them through everything any longer. Side note: my eldest is 21 today and I’m wistfully remembering his infancy - see, I too struggle with letting my adult child adult (say that 3 times fast.) 😂

Also, I love the concept of Congratsyoulations.
